The importance of washing your face!

Hello friends,
It has been a while since I have blogged, but do not get discouraged! I am going to start doing a lot more posts in the near future! Today's post is going to be about washing our faces!! Now I know a lot of girls (including myself) feel like it is just a huge inconvenience and not worth taking the time to do it. FALSE! You ALMOST always want to wash your face before bed! The only exception is if you use a cream or "foam" (such as Maybelline or Loreal) foundation because these help fight signs of aging and wrinkles. Sleeping in your makeup can cause unsightly breakouts and irritations on your skin. A great, and affordable face wash you can use, and purchase almost anywhere, is St. Ives Apricot Scrub . It sells from about $3-$4 at drugstores

For trouble skin (skin that is prone to acne breakouts) a few great washes are Proactiv
 (I happen to use the apricot scrub and Proactiv, switching off every couple days)
Another great wash is Neutrogena Skin id

Now remember that these washes are for acne prone skin only and can dry out perfectly healthy skin if used too frequently.

Now washing your face at night take less than ten minutes and the results are more than worth it. So make sure that you wash your face and remove all makeup residue left on your face from the morning :)

A great style for a party

This is a great look for a party if you're not looking to be the center of attention. Here we have a nice shimmery white base with a smudge of a lighter grey under a darker grey. Here I took the shimmer white and covered the entire lid so that it was noticeable, yet not overpowering. Then I took a light grey and covered three quarters of the lid so that you could still see the white near the inner lid. After this I took a dark shimmer grey and smudged it into the crease of her eyes to give it a smokey eye look. After this I took a brushed liner and covered the entire lid just above the lashes.
For the bottom lid I took a liner brush and smudged the dark shimmer grey only  across half of her lid.
For her foundation I used a liquid and applied it with a foundation brush. I used a blush on the apples of her cheeks and then used a bronzer on the forehead, cheeks, and the jawline to bring a more sunkissed look.

This is a great daytime smokey eye. It's a little dark, but perfect for those who don't want to look overly dramatic.

colors used: a light cream color, black with shimmer, light eyeliner and dark mascara.
This look is perfect for going out and not wanting to look too extreme. It is a light smokey eye that goes well with anything

A little bit of a smokey eye

Colors that were used here include: Both light and dark purples with a little bit of shimmer, a bright blue with shimmer, black eyeliner, and dark mascara. This is a less dramatic smokey eye, which is great for a day look.
